Dr Jen Swanston

Jen has joined the Every Mind team to assist with Autism Diagnostic Assessments.


Since qualifying in 2011, Jen has specialised in working with young people and families. She has extensive experience within generic and specialist services within the NHS, as well as working within the private sector. Jen has a particular specialist interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and anxiety disorders, including trauma and obsessive compulsive disorder. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and is a Chartered Member of British Psychological Society (BPS). Jen also provides supervision and consultation to psychologists and other professional groups, including social workers and teachers. Jen is a guest lecturer on the Oxford University Doctoral course in Clinical Psychology and has published in the field of child and adolescent psychology. In terms of therapeutic models, Jen utilises a variety of approaches, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Systemic approaches (including narrative therapy) and mindfulness based approaches.
