Learning Disability Assessment

How can we help.....

We offer assessments to ascertain whether an individual has a learning disability, either as a standalone assessment or in conjunction with an autism and/ or ADHD assessment.

A Learning Disability assessment can be helpful to ascertain the best type of support for an individual moving forwards.

STEP 1: Online Initial Discussion

This one hour session is an opportunity for you and the clinician to explore your child's background, and to decide whether a full assessment is required.

The clinician will ask for other professional reports and school reviews.

STEP 2: The Cognitive Assessment

A cognitive assessment looks at your child's unique strengths and needs in terms of their cognitive abilities. This is a very useful assessment to understand how your child processes information, including their working memory, processing speed, and reasoning abilities. This is a fun, iPad based assessment in clinic.

STEP 3: The Neurodevelopmental history interview

During this two hour online session, you will discuss your child in more detail including school attainment and daily living skills. The clinician will complete the ABAS questionnaire with you which is a standardised assessment as part of learning disability diagnoses.
