Katy will visit your child at school or nursery to observe their speech and language, and also talk to their teacher or key worker. We would also invite you and your child to collect some more information and for your child to complete some standardised assessments.

Standardised assessments are a series of tasks that are completed in 'standard' conditions. This means each assessment is carried out in the same way in the same conditions each time. The results of your child's assessment are then compared to 'typical' scores achieved by other children of a similar age. We can then see how your child is performing compared to these scores.

Understanding more about your child's speech and language needs helps to ensure they are receiving the right level of support at home and school.

Katy will write a comprehensive report outlining your child's strengths and needs according to their speech and language. She will write recommendations that can feed directly into an EHCP provision list.
