My name is Will Jebson and I am an Assistant Psychologist. I have a BSc Psychology degree from The University of Manchester, and I joined Every Mind in February 2023. I provide clinical support to the team by completing face-to-face assessments for ASD and ADHD, as well as delivering therapeutic interventions.
Throughout my short career, I have found working with young people incredibly valuable and rewarding. I’ve gained brilliant experiences as a Voluntary Teaching Assistant and a Lead Mentor in SEN academic settings, as well as a Team Leader delivering the National Citizenship Service programme that seeks to engage and provide positive learning experiences for young people. Most recently, I have been lucky enough to work therapeutically with children who have experienced difficult upbringings and disrupted early attachments in a therapeutic community. Much of the work is grounded by The Sanctuary Model, a psychological framework that focuses on equipping practitioners with the knowledge, practice and support to effectively help traumatised young people heal and grow.
My interest in autism originated when I worked in the care industry, delivering person-centred care to adults with autism and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting. I became really interested in understanding autism from the inside-out, and collaborating with the team to make the lives of the people we supported as rich and meaningful as possible. I was eventually elected to become the designated Positive Behavioural Support Coach for the service, which stoked a more academic interest in autism. Throughout my experiences, I have found people with ASD to be some of the most unique and incredible people that I have ever met.
We have launched a new programme of workshops for parents of autistic children. Workshops include Supporting Self Esteem, Managing Anxiety, and the Transition to Adolescence. Please contact us for more information
